How to Add Notes to Vendor/Customer Records

Use the Comments field — not Messages — to add notes to any entity record in NetSuite.

Why Comments, Not Messages?

Messages in NetSuite are for email communication. Comments are for internal notes that the whole team can see. If you use Messages, it may trigger an email to the vendor/customer.

Steps

  1. Open the Vendor or Customer record
  2. Scroll down to the Communication subtab
  3. Click the Comments sub-subtab (not Messages)
  4. Click New Comment
  5. Type your note
  6. Click Save on the record
