How to Create a Sales Order

Step-by-step guide for entering a new sales order in NetSuite.

Before You Start

  • You need NetSuite access (ask Michael if you don't have it)
  • Know the customer name and items they're ordering
  • Have the PO number from the customer if applicable

Steps

  1. Log in to NetSuite
  2. Go to Transactions > Sales > Enter Sales Orders
  3. Select the Customer from the dropdown
  4. Enter the customer's PO Number in the PO/Check Number field
  5. Set the Ship Date
  6. Add line items:
    • Select the Item from the dropdown
    • Enter the Quantity
    • Verify the Rate (price) — it should auto-fill from the customer's price level
    • Repeat for each item
  7. Verify the Ship To address
  8. Click Save

Important Notes

:::tip Brand = Department On sales orders, the Brand field maps to the Department field in NetSuite. Make sure to select the correct brand (GFS, Right Start Foods, etc.). :::

:::caution Check Inventory Before saving, verify inventory is available. Go to Reports > Inventory > Valuation to check on-hand quantities. :::
