How to Create a Sales Order
Step-by-step guide for entering a new sales order in NetSuite.
Before You Start
- You need NetSuite access (ask Michael if you don't have it)
- Know the customer name and items they're ordering
- Have the PO number from the customer if applicable
Steps
- Log in to NetSuite
- Go to Transactions > Sales > Enter Sales Orders
- Select the Customer from the dropdown
- Enter the customer's PO Number in the PO/Check Number field
- Set the Ship Date
- Add line items:
- Select the Item from the dropdown
- Enter the Quantity
- Verify the Rate (price) — it should auto-fill from the customer's price level
- Repeat for each item
- Verify the Ship To address
- Click Save
Important Notes
:::tip Brand = Department On sales orders, the Brand field maps to the Department field in NetSuite. Make sure to select the correct brand (GFS, Right Start Foods, etc.). :::
:::caution Check Inventory Before saving, verify inventory is available. Go to Reports > Inventory > Valuation to check on-hand quantities. :::
